Identity for a no-frills, Hemingway inspired destination, serving customers from day to night.

BRAND + IDENTITY + EXPERIENCE

Problem

A desire arose to create a coffeeshop & bar inspired by Ernest Hemingway, the "Hemingway themed" space could conceptually go in many different directions. How can it be unique from other spaces inspired by the famous writer?

What i did

After heavy research and finding a few motto's that Hemingway went by, "Write Drunk, Edit Sober," was a phrase that deeply inspired the identity of this space. It will be simple, and have a nod to his worldly & exotic travels.

 

Identity

Using the theme of "Write Drunk, Edit Sober," the name Earnest & Friends was set in stone, creating the new identity for the space. Earnest & Friends uses Hemingways' motto to set day from night, A.M. from P.M., caffeine from booze. 

The space takes it back a notch by striving for an analog-only, no frills atmosphere where wanderlusters and literature lovers can come together and connect with their stories under one roof.
